Why wait for a party? Celebrate every moment!

Mini-celebrations of everyday moments keep you motivated and confident
Do you wait for calendar events to celebrate – birthdays, anniversaries, festivals or the New Year? Of course there is no shortage of such events with commercial interests throwing in an ever-expanding list of special days – Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Women’s Day, Men’s Day, etc.
But why wait for someone else to start the party when you can have a celebration of your own everyday! A celebration that does not involve long hours of planning your dress and hairdo, that does not mean excruciating navigation through heavy traffic, nor dealing with resultant exhaustion and messed up timelines!
Celebrate your own special moments everyday. And there are so many of them! Do not wait for big achievements – they are few and far between; it is the smaller moments and achievements, the everyday little, happy things that we should embrace and make the most of.
A flash of golden Amaltas on trees as you drive past, a glimpse of the sun glinting off the ocean, a drifting cloud, the feel of sand between your toes, or a child’s innocent smile – no matter where you are, there is always a beautiful moment to savour and celebrate! Just woke up and looking forward to meeting a close friend? Celebrate with a spontaneous jig! Happy with a rare compliment the boss gave? Allow that grin to peep out! The first day of winter? Whip out that barbecue and enjoy an evening on your terrace.
And then there are the moments that mark the milestones of your journey towards your life purpose. They must be celebrated! It is important to understand the things that give you happiness and make you feel worthwhile. These are connected with your purpose, your energy flow and the direction of your life. Pause, think over, enjoy and enshrine within you.
Life is full of beautiful celebratory moments – just stay keenly aware and willing to celebrate the little joys of everyday living. And, why is it important to do that?Experts aver that even the smallest of celebrations and happiness we allow ourselves can help build positive emotions and buffer us against future adverse moments. Such celebrations give us resilience and strengthen us with happy memories; they build our self-respect and help us stay motivated.
Not every celebration entails the popping of champagne or a candle-lit dinner with wine and flowers. A mini-celebration could also be just pausing and absorbing the positive feelings that the moment gives you. There is a critical difference between a happy moment experienced and a happy moment shared and celebrated. The pause we give ourselves to make the most of the moment is what stays with us. In that pause we soak up the good feel of the moment and ensure we walk away with the moment enshrined within us forever.
So pause, stay with the moment – do a jig, smile towards the heavens, say a prayer, share it with a loved one, or just indulge yourself with a bite of a favourite food!

Bizenjo and his politics by I.A. Rehman

Topic:  Bizenjo and his politics Writter:  I.A. Rehman Publish Date:  21 December 2017 Published on :  Down news Bizenjo and his politics BEFORE we say goodbye to 2017, it seems appropriate to remember Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo, whose birth centenary fell this year and was celebrated by his friends and admirers in Quetta some time ago. But as he had fought for the interests of the entire human family of Pakistan, his services deserve to be recalled outside Balochistan too. Indeed, the tendency in the country to ignore the heroes of Balochistan — not only the Baloch but also the Pakhtuns — has been a factor in that province’s alienation from the state. Bizenjo’s choices from the very beginning of his long and extraordinarily active political career did not qualify him for admission in the club of patriots as defined by the establishment. For instance, he did not conceal the fact that as a young man he was attracted to the Indian Congress and not the M...
